Instead of being just a Church that welcomes and receives by keeping the doors open, let us try also to be a Church that finds new roads, that is able to step outside itself and go to those who do not attend Mass, to those who have quit or are indifferent.

Tom Chapman

Tom Chapman has served as Executive Director for the Iowa Catholic Conference (ICC) since 2007. The ICC is the official public policy voice for the four bishops of Iowa, and provides advocacy for policies that respect life and the dignity of each person. The principles of Catholic social teaching are integral to their efforts, as well as informing Catholics regarding the political process with an informed conscience. The issues facing Catholics in health care are an important part of the ICC's work, including abortion, end of life decisions, bioethics, and conscience rights protection.
