Instead of being just a Church that welcomes and receives by keeping the doors open, let us try also to be a Church that finds new roads, that is able to step outside itself and go to those who do not attend Mass, to those who have quit or are indifferent.

Janine M. Idziak, Ph.D.

Janine Marie Idziak received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Michigan and subsequently earned a M.A. in theology from the University of Notre Dame.  A professor emerita of philosophy at Loras College (May 2017), she remains director of the Bioethics Center at Loras and serves as Consultant for Health Care Ethics for the Archdiocese of Dubuque.  

The author of three books in the field of bioethics, Dr. Idziak serves on the Board and IRB of the John Paul II Medical Research Institute in Iowa City, on a data safety monitoring committee for a cancer research project at NewLink Genetics in Ames, and on the Human Life and Dignity Committee of the Iowa Catholic Conference.
